GridCars and Eskom Partner to Expand EV Charging Network

GridCars, recently appointed as Eskom’s charge-point partner, aims to spearhead the local electric vehicle (EV) charging sector. Collaborating closely with South Africa’s primary power utility, GridCars emphasises the critical role Eskom plays in advancing EV infrastructure across the country.
The installation of advanced AC and DC chargers marks a significant milestone. Beyond supporting Eskom’s EV fleet, these “smart” chargers will also enable research into optimising energy grid management and EV charging methodologies.
GridCars highlights the transformative impact of these chargers, enhancing efficiency while contributing to the stability of the national grid. The data collected from these initiatives will be pivotal in shaping future strategies to accommodate the growing EV demand without compromising grid stability.
