Stellenbosch Municipality’s HR Manager Exposed Pushing Race-Based Harassment

Alexander Kannemeyer caught advocating racial harassment against white staff at Stellenbosch Municipality

Actions Violate Employment Equity Act and Labour Relations Act, Risking Legal Consequences

A disturbing video has surfaced showing Alexander Kannemeyer, HR manager for Stellenbosch Municipality, suggesting that white employees should face unbearable work conditions to force resignations in favour of Black candidates. This practice is not only illegal but also an affront to principles of meritocracy and service delivery.

The Employment Equity Act and Labour Relations Act explicitly prohibit such harassment and discrimination. Kannemeyer’s actions violate both, despite his extensive experience in labour relations through IMATU and SALGA. This indicates either gross negligence or deliberate malfeasance.

AfriForum warns that prioritising race over competence will harm municipalities’ service delivery and put communities at risk. The constitutional guarantee of equality is being undermined by policies that favour identity over skill, threatening white professionals, farmers, and business owners.

South Africa is entering an era where merit-based employment is under siege by political agendas. The Stellenbosch case highlights the destructive potential of such policies and the urgent need for accountability.
