Zinn Now Faces Obstruction Of Justice And Child Pornography Charges

George Zinn, a 71-year-old man, was arrested following the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Initially detained for falsely claiming responsibility for the shooting, Zinn has now been charged with obstruction of justice and possession of child sex abuse material (CSAM). During an interview, Zinn admitted to using his phone to view and share CSAM images, some involving prepubescent girls aged 5 to 12. He is currently held in Utah County Jail.

Zinn was attending an event at Utah Valley University when the shooting occurred. In the ensuing chaos, he shouted that he had shot Charlie Kirk, leading to his initial arrest. Later, he clarified that his statement was false and intended to mislead law enforcement. Upon consenting to a search of his phone, investigators discovered over 20 CSAM images and explicit communications. Zinn acknowledged deriving sexual gratification from these materials and sharing them with others.
